Our Story

Irvs’ founder and owner, perfectionist Paul Irving, has, in his own words, “lived and breathed classic cars for his entire life”. His car obsession began at 7 years old when he used to help in his Dad’s garage and fell utterly in love. He describes restoration work as being in his blood, and from the fabulous transformation projects he’s managed over the years, it’s easy to believe.

In 2012, Paul brought together a team of like-minded, passionate, and skilled individuals to launch Irvs VW Restorations Limited. Today, this elite team of restoration professionals is known for creating completely bespoke, utterly unique masterpieces that become more dazzling with every project. Irvs has gained a stellar reputation, not only throughout Cumbria but also internationally. With over 25 years of experience and a dedicated team of 20 skilled classic car enthusiasts, this family-run business consistently demonstrates why they are held in such high esteem.

Although their customers hail from around the globe, they maintain a strong sense of local community and proudly sponsor several local football teams, including Askam United (1st Team and Reserves), Furness Cavaliers Juniors, and Lancaster & Morecambe College. Additionally, they support Barrow AFC Academy, sponsoring the kits for the under 8s, 9s, and 10s, nurturing the next generation of champions.
